The only way I'd do it again i...

The only way I'd do it again is because of the money I saved... and I'd have to seriously think about it, even with the savings. At first they were so nice and helpful. But it didn't take long for that to change. My problems started right after my home was delivered. I mistakenly gave them the wrong check when they delivered it. The following business day the salesman called me and advised me of what I had done and that the owner would not let the work crew finish setting my home up until she had the correct check. I advised him that my husband and I would bring the correct check down by the end of the week so that nothing would slow down the process of getting out home together. They had delivered a home a few days before mine and had to finish it first before they could start on mine anyway so I had time. So we took the check down like I told him that we would, which he gladly took. But when I asked for the other check back, the secretary advised that the owner had gone ahead and deposited the check anyway. Now just to remind you, they knew I had given them the wrong check and was bringing the correct one to them. Well I was a little worried about it, but gave them the benefit of the doubt that there wouldn't be a problem. BIG MISTAKE. It seems like since that point, there has been problem after problem. The salesman, Johnny, is always very nice, but nice doesn't get my home fixed. We've been six months trying to get things fixed and are now looking at the possiblity of having to hire a lawyer. Now I'll give you that it took us a few months to get our electricity hooked up so that they'd have heat inside, but even taking that into account, it's been 4 months since our electricity has been hooked up and we're still fighting with them... not to mention that we had unseasonably warm weather in March this year so the temps were in the 70s s week or two before it was hooked up, which meant they could have worked on it without electricity. My pantry was wrong, the kitchen cabinets, kitchen sink, bathroom sink placement (it was supposed to be centered, but was offset), and shower doors were wrong. They've ordered the kitchen cabinet twice now and it was wrong both times... still waiting for it. The replacement kitchen sink was wrong, still waiting for it too. They replaced the back doors which were damaged, but the inside back door is defective and the storm door latch sticks all the time. When they finally do send service workers to my home, they show up around 11:00 am and leave by 3:00 pm, and they even take a lunch break in that time. So if I'm lucky I get a good three and a half hours of work and they get one or two things done. And I hate to say this, but normally those things have to be fixed or redone also. They have one really good serviceman for inside work, but you can't always get him. They send 1 or 2 people one and then they'll send 1 or 2 people the next time, which will be a week or two later (if you're lucky) and they don't know what the previous person(s) did. It's just a mess and very poor management. The sad part is that the owners are the managers and they don't even care. I would only go there to again because of the savings. Because I did in fact save thousands by going through them, some of which was because they gave me an incorrect quote when we initially talked to them about the home we wanted. I must say though, that the salesman did honor that price for us, even though the home really should have been thousands more. We looked at it at another lot that sells Norris homes and it was about $10,000 more than what we paid.
