Sonshine Chimney

The worst! Came out in April 2014 to measure for a rain cap. Called me back in June and asked if I still wanted to do the rain cap. Did not hear from him for weeks, so I called him at the end of July and he told me he lost the measurements and would need to come and remeasure. The worst part of it all was when he came out in April to measure after he was done he quoted bible verses and preached the word of god to me for an hour and a half. I do not believe in god. Take your chances if you dare with this guy.

We have used Sonshine Chimney twice. The 1st time was several years ago. They were out they prosessional and personable.They did not charge us full price because unknown to us our fireplace had not been used. They charged us half the service charge and they cleaned the firebox and checked the chimney.

The 2nd time was just yesterday and again the serviceman was professional and personable.This time our fireplace was definitely dirty. I really appreciated his care and attitude of respect while in my home. He took his shoes off and covered my carpet. He also gave great advise on using and maintaining our fireplace. We will definitely recommend and use Sonshine Chimney again

Although both gentleman were very pleasant and they seemed to do a good job in a short amount of time, they seemed to be looking for ways to get more money. I was asked what I paid for my home and he was looking around the flyer in the yard with the sale price on it, also asking numerous other questions about my home and situation.

I really did not feel that this was any of their business and inappropriate of them to even ask. They said there were repairs that needed to be made before the chimney was safe to use and then gave a high estimate for the minimal repair. He also made sure to write 'Not safe for use' all over the document showing the fireplace had been cleaned. I will not be using them for any future cleaning or repairs that need to be made, and will also seek other opinions and estimates from other contractors.
