I just had National Chimney come to my house. Tom was very professional and thorough. He inspected my chimney and did a cleaning for us. I was very happy with him and this company.

National Chimney & Masonry (Tom Casey) was contracted to clean my chimney. While cleaning they told my wife that the chimney was seriously deteriorated and recommended a stainless steel liner. Big surprise they had it on the truck and scared her into the installation that day - $1,100.
I returned home a week later to find our home filled with smoke and soot. I called my oil company who told me that the insert was incorrectly installed.
I called a REPUTABLE Chimney service to inspect and they found multiple instances of work that was done against code. Mistakes included spilling cement into the flue totally clogging it up, using the wrong size insert. Incredible they packed CARDBOARD around the insert to keep the liner in place while the cement dried - which is not only against code, but created a fire hazard in the chimney.
Inspection of the chimney showed normal wear and tear, a condition in which an insert is not recommended by a reputable chimney cleaning company.
Repeated calls to the company and messages left have been ignored and owner Tom Casey told me to take him to court. I took him to small claims court and the judge decided it was a clear case of consumer fraud and awarded triple the judgment. Of course I have not been able to collect from this crook.

Provided by SuperpagesWhat a Joke. I had an appointment for them come out and clean my chimney on a Saturday and they never showed up. When i called theire ofice they said that they would have someone call me right back to come later in the day. They never called back. After 2 days i called them back and they told me i would have to wait 2 weeks for an appointment. i told them that i cant wait that long and the girl said "oh well call someone else". Horrible customer service and a NO SHOW without a phone call...........steer clear from them unless you want to waste a weekend.

While cleaning the chimney they informed us the chimney flue was deteriorated installed a stainless steel liner for $1,150 for. After two weeks our basement filled with smoke and soot. I placed an emergency call to a local company, who came and discovered that National Chimney incorrectly sealed the pipe with cement which completely sealed it off. They recommended that I call in another chimney service to inspect the work. Their findings were as follows: - A 5 inch insert was placed into a 7 inch chimney opening which was not only against code, but was not large enough to support the existing oil burning furnace and gas hot water heater. This caused a backup of smoke and soot, which clogged the furnace and the insert.
