Don’t use this store - they subcontract all their installations and you may get some workers who aren’t the kind of people you want in your home. Furthermore, they’ll tell you everything you want to hear up front, and then actually do the job as quickly and sloppily as they can get away with. Unfortunately, once you’ve found something wrong that they managed to hide, they won’t come back to fix it if you’ve already paid.

Not for me.

I was running around town this past week looking for carpet and stopped in here.

I didn't find what I was looking for and left.

I have been researching wood flooring for our house and have found Sal and his team to be helpful, courteous and accommodating. They have answered all my questions and there has been no pressure which I find refreshing.

Very Bad: Factory Warehouse of Floors - DeLand: Part I

I do NOT recommend Factory Warehouse of Floors (FWoF) to anyone based my personal experiences with them:

Painting: Each and every wall painted by FWoF required rework. Even after three paint sessions, there are still areas unpainted. Quality control and supervision are severely lacking. The customer should not have to spend hours pointing out to the project manager (owner) all of the places without paint.

Carpeting: The carpet is not tacked down in large areas. Even after five weeks the carpet can easily be lifted along the wall. If not wearing shoes, one needs to be careful where stepping as nails come up through carpet. The carpet feels uneven and stiff when walking on it.

Destruction of blinds: Blinds taken down during painting of master bedroom were placed on floor, and then sliding closet doors were removed and placed on top of blinds which broke multiple pieces. After painting, the owner of this company had the broken blinds put back up. The broken blinds were left dangling below the window. It has been more than a month and no apology or offer to repair or replace them.

Hazardous conditions created: In addition to other areas, a small amount of carpet was to be removed near the front door. The agreement was to remove the carpet and parkay flooring and to leave the original wood flooring clean and presentable. This company moved the parkay into a pile inside the front door with nails and carpet padding, and left it there for days. I eventually took the pile out to the trash. The rusty nails on the old carpet tack strips were left attached to the floor facing upward. Although I asked several times when the rusty nails would be removed, they are still there after more than a month. Needless to say we wear shoes and step carefully. Other wood trim removed was consistently left in walking areas with rusty nails facing upward. Each evening, I would need to move and turn things to reduce risk of injury.

Disregard for customer property: Wood flooring has been so damaged as a result of 'work' performed by FWoF. Whether installing drywall, painting, or anything which makes a mess. The wood flooring was never covered that I am aware of, except by me or my family. The mess left was shocking and the floors are ruined.

Broken door frame: As part of agreement, door frame to master bedroom was to be replaced and the door re-hung to open outward instead of inward. The first attempt didn't allow the door to fit within the frame. Now the door is hung, but the frame is split down on the hinge side and there isn't any 'trim' (not sure the technical term for the wood inside frame that prevents your from seeing through to the other side around the door). We asked several times and nothing was done.

Unnecessary short cuts: FWoF was to remove paneling on two walls and paint these walls. It turned out that the walls were in worse condition than expected so I agreed to pay for drywall to be installed on these walls, and then textured and painted. Instead of taking a few minutes to remove the paneling as agreed upon, FWoF put the piece of paneling (which had been removed) back on the wall. The drywall was installed over the old warped paneling.

Part I of this review will have to end here. There is so much more to share, but it will have to wait another day. I am unable to recall even one aspect of the project that went as promised by FWoF.

Overall

Sal is great, and I have to respectfully disagree with the previous rating - we have purchased wood flooring, a whole house of carpeting, and are now reflooring our screen enclosure with tile and indoor-outdoor carpet, ALL on a serious budget. Thanks to all of your team Sal, great work.
