I made the mistake of hiring this company for a move and ended up with multiple pieces of damaged furniture, a cracked mirror, and a scratched hardwood floor. The two guys that showed up were moving extremely slow, took long breaks, and came back from their breaks reeking of marijuana (the owner of the company refused to admit any responsibility for this or take any disciplinary action whatsoever). The quality of their work was horrible. They damaged furniture, they didn't finish the job because of how slow they were, and the company had to send movers out on another day to complete the job that should have been done in one day.

When I spoke with the owner about everything, he was extremely rude and confrontational, and refused to admit any wrongdoing. He finally ended up agreeing to comp the move after I showed him pictures of the damages (which he accused me of lying about). However, he then refused to send someone out to assess and repair the damage (which he insisted he would, because the move and the damage repair were two separate transactions). So in the end, I'm left worse off than I was before because of the damaged furniture and a scratched floor that he refused to repair.

I confronted him again about this, and he offered to give me a $100 Visa gift card, which I refused. I had read another customer's review of how he had offered the same thing to them, but the gift card he gave them turned out to be empty, and he stopped returning their calls.

Do not hire this company, because 1) I have no reason to believe that the two movers we got have ever been disciplined or removed from his staff, so you might get them as your movers, and 2) If you complain, the owner will do everything he can to avoid resolving the issue.

These guys did great work! they were quick, professional, and hard working. What a great team!

I used this service through a U-Haul site. I rented the truck and hired them to load the furniture for my daughter and myself. They were 1 hour late and when I called the owner, I was informed they were on their way. I called again and was told there had been a death with one of the workers and the funeral was today and my movers were on their way. I called again and he offered to cancel the contract and not come at all. He was very rude and he knew he had me in a very bad position. He said he would send workers from another job site after several minutes of arguing and my explanation that he needed to complete his part of the contract. I told him I would not argue with him but I would write a review about this experience. The workers arrived and were very nice, polite college men and they got me loaded in 1 hour! The owner of the company did call to verify the job was completed and apologized for his earlier conversations with me.

I can not recommend this company if the owner of the company can not be honest with a consumer, complete his contract and threatens to leave the consumer without any help at all.

I hope he was having a bad day and I am the only one that gets this type of service. He offered to take $40 off the bill if I canceled the contract with U-Haul and paid him directly. That did not sound fair to U-Haul and he should have offered a discount to me without having to cancel a contract.

I recently had East Carolina Moving come out and help me move some stuff into storage. The crew was punctual and quick.

We recently moved from Greenville to Charlotte. The owner was precise and accurate with his estimate. The crew was very punctual. These guys are good!

I have worked with these guys on several different occasions, each time being a wonderful and easy experience. Mark, the owner, is professional, polite and quick to respond to your needs and concerns. His crew of movers are fast, efficient and professional. This is the ONLY moving company I would recommend to my family and friends. They simply are the best!

I got a great rate and they were very competent movers. I mean, it doesn't take much to be a good mover, just be on time and don't break anything right? They did that and were good guys. I would use them again.

These guys are good! The crew of 4 showed up on time. I was worried about my baby grand piano. They knew exactly what to do. My job required two 26' trucks and the men utilized the lift gates to decrease cost and time. All 4 crew members had their uniforms tucked in and ready to go. Highly recommend them.

I made reservations for East Carolina Moving Company two weeks before my sister and I moved out. When I spoke on the phone with Mark, the owner, he said he was emailing me all the details in a confirmation email. A week later we had still not received the email so I called back and left a message. Instead of calling and apologizing he just sent the email to my sister which stated the date the movers were supposed to come and the time which was supposed to be 7 am. The moving day finally came and we woke up at 6 am to make sure all of my stuff was packed properly and ready for the movers to just load into the u haul. We waited, packed some more stuff, waited a little longer, packed up more, and waited even longer. Finally, at 11 am I was wondering why the movers weren't here yet and decided to call to see what was going on. No answer. I left a message for Mark and asked him where the movers were. I waited an hour and still no response. At this time we had everything packed up, even the items we wanted the movers to help us with. At 12:30 I called again, then my sister call, and finally we called the 'immediate attention' number. (That's four phone calls and three voicemails in case you weren't counting.) I still heard nothing back. Instead of waiting around another 3 hours we had to call around to see if another moving company was able to fit us in. It's safe to say I will NEVER use this company again and I will NEVER recommend it to anyone who is moving. In fact, I plan on telling everyone I know about this terrible experience so that hopefully this company will never receive a client again. If it were possible to give them a negative amount of stars, I would. So if you're planning on moving, do yourself a favor and call real professionals.

Our legal practice had to move to a larger office to accommodate a growing staff. As office manager, I was tasked with coordinating our move. After interviewing several local moving companies, I decided to go with East Carolina Moving. Mark came by our offices and gave us a very competitive quote. The thing that sold me was his enthusiasm and professionalism. He sent over a crew at the close of business on Friday and by Monday morning we were up and running like nothing happened! East Carolina Moving was recommended to me by one of my employees, when we moved from a cramped office in Chapel Hill to our new location in RTP. The owner gave us a good price, especially considering that we were moving a TON of stuff! The proprietor Mark made sure everything was handled carefully and professionally, and we got everything into our new office quickly and in one piece. The movers he brought with him, Joe, Dane, and Mike, along with Mark, got everything done done quickly and without incident. I definitely recommend them.
