Cuts by Us

I get my hair cut my Kristin, she is a younger woman, and she is amazing with hair!! She always does exactly what I want! I also go tanning here, they have a special right now and it's 27.99 for a whole month, and the ladies and one gentleman could not be any nicer!! I recommend completely!!

I appreciated the time they took the foil and color my hair was very professional and it look classy and chic and we took pictures of it cuz it was so pretty the staff is very friendly the stylist are very caring and they take the time to do the job right in to make sure that you like It.

Sorrento rd location: NEVER AGAIN my husband got his hair cut there and the lady did an amazing job. While i was waiting for him i was looking in a book and found the cutest cut very basic. I come in a few days later for a wash and cut not only did i end up wearing more water than i got on my head the guy had no clue what he was doing! He looked at the picture that had front and back of the style and asked right in front of me how do i do this? (I should have ran out right then but she said shed help him and i have had hair students do my hair before so i wasnt too worried granted this is a salon not a beauty school..) he didnt line up my ends the entire time, never checked length, never parted it, and the person who was supposed to be helping was more concerned w carrying on an inappropriate conversation with me that i really wanted nothing to do with. My light dry was 2 seconds and had to leave before i burst into tears. Not only is 3 + inches shorter than i wanted its uneven to the point even my style oblivious husband could tell and looks like a horrible 1980s power haircut so i have lost over 7 inches of hair and i am even more upset about my looks and am cancelling my maternity pictures because it looks so bad. Im going elsewhere today i pray they can do something without making me look like a guy to get this even and manageable. It wont let me give a zero rating...

This written review is only for the Sorrento Road location (I haven't been to the other two/few) because of all the poor reviews from others. This was a great spot for me to get a hair-cut for the past 4 years and I've never been dissapointed. Of course I always got a millitary type haircut (0 guard, fade, edge around the ears, scissor top) so I can't speak for the coloring, etc. But, if you're coming PCS to the area, I highly recommend it. I went to the NEX and since they only issue 'boot camp' hair cuts and I've been in for 8 years, that didn't work. So, I'm glad I found Cuts by Us and it's a plus that they're conveniently close to base/gov't housing (Mariner Village). Military discount included (ask for it). Nice folks, decent price too.

I went into cuts by us for a hair cut and decided to get color as well. My hair was almost to my lower back so I thought a cut that's under my shoulders would be cute. I normally have long flowing dark blonde hair. I asked to look at the color choices for the hair dye and i chose a very pretty light/medium brown color. I asked the girl when she was cutting my hair to give me a side bang. After she was done and I looked in the mirror I cried it looked horrible. My hair cut was all one length and was a poof ball. I have very thick hair and she made it look choppy nothing was even. The side bang I had asked for all she did was part my hair down the middle and cut a huge chunk of hair all i wanted was a small bang. So I have the huge chunk of bang on one side of my forehead. I cant wear my hair up or down these bangs are horrible and embarrassing I have to constantly bobby pin them back and put my hair in a pony tail. If you thought that was bad you should see the hair color. My hair is BLACK as black can be no brown what so ever, it was even remotely close to the color I asked for. She didn't even color all of my hair so I ended up looking like a cheetah with blonde chunks all over and all she could say was I get off in 30 mins so I cant fix it today make an appointment and ill try and fix it for you. Why would she think I am ever coming back. I feel ugly. I have uneven short black hair with a huge chunk of bang taken off. She didn't even rinse all the hair color out. For a week strait When I took a shower and rinsed my hair the water was black and my hair smelled like very strong hair dye for what seems like forever. I think I at least deserve someone more talented at cuts by us to evaluate my hair and try and fix it at least lighten it up.

I've gone in to this Cuts By Us on 3 seperate occasions. The first time I took my 4 y/o daughter in for her first haircut and we saw Denise. She was very pleasant and was chatting and playing around w/ my daughter as she cut her hair. This helped SOO much as my child is a special needs child and was a little scared. I had simply asked to have the dead ends trimmed (ok she was 4, her hair was to her bottom and never been cut before, I fully expected a good 2-3 in would be cut off b/c there was alot of dead, dry hair needing to come off) and her hair needed to be cut so it was even and not so many random lengths. 20 min later she declared she was done... ummm... she'd trimmed maybe 1/2 in off total and insisted that was all that was needing trimmed. I asked about it being evened out on the ends and was told that 'due to her hair being curly it looks to be different lengths, but it's not' Annoyed that I just wasted my money on a cut that was not satisfactory, I took my child home. About 2 months later I took my other daughter in for a trim and was seen by a man, Ricky, who was amazing! He trimmed her hair and insisted how she was going to look just like a princess, etc. She loved every minute of him doing her hair. He was great! Trimmed it beautifully and she left so proud of her new cut. Because we were so impressed w/ him, two days later I took my 4y/o back in to see him. Again great haircut, he got rid of the 3 1/2 in of dead hair that needed trimmed.. which should have been taken care of the first time!! She now has much healthier looking hair! I wouldn't even give a single star based on the cut by Denise, however due to the great job Ricky did, I can make it up by giving this place 3 stars. I will probably not return again for anything shy of a trim for my kids.

I have been going to Fantastic sams for years. The lady that normally does my hair moved, so I thought I would try something different. I called Cuts by us and came in with a picture in my hand and told the ladys I wanted it just like that cut and color. I did not get the cut i wanted or the color. I went in a brunette and came out with small streaks of what looked GRAY!! When it dryed and I got home i cried my eyes out. I called and spoke with Denise and told her it was not at all what i wanted and she said to come in she would fix it. More color on it more damage, and she trimmed the dead ends again but it still looked nothing like the picture I brought in. My experience when you get your hair done they should dry it and style it for you. They did not do that. i went home with dry wet hair. She didn't charge me for the second time, but there should have never been a second time. Denise was very nice and gave me a product for free to help my damaged hair. I paid 103.00 dollars and at Fantastic sams i always pay 55. I will never Ever step foot back into Cuts by us, and will not recommend it to anyone. Tamera the first stylest ruined my hair.

I would like to say that I have been several times and have always had great results. Candace cut my hair the first couple of times and did a great job. She was very attentive to what I wanted and the questions that I ask. Angie cut my hair the last time and did a good job. I would recommend Cuts by Us to anyone. My first experience there was awesome. Jackie cut my hair...did an amazing job. Very professional. Reasonable rates. I told other people about my great experience there. Then...there was my second experience. Jackie was not in. I'm not sure exactly the name of the lady there...I believe it was Karen. She cut my son's hair. I asked her to take about an inch off to clean it up. He has somewhat of a shag. She did and he asked for another half inch because he wanted it a little shorter. She reluctantly did. Then he realized the back was still longer than he wanted and asked for a little more off. She turned to me and said that if she cut it again she was charging me for two haircuts. OKAY??? I've never had that experience before. I thought they were there to satisfy their client. He is a child. She never asked if he wanted a wash, she never asked if he wanted a dry. She didn't even dust the hair off of him. Prior to him taking his seat to begin with I overheard her with a customer on the phone being verrrryy rude. I just couldn't even believe it. As I left I told her I would not return there. She yelled as I was leaving "okkaaayyy...okaayyy.". I'm not a confrontational person. I've worked in customer service many years and that was just not professional at all. I will not go back and I will tell everyone I know about my experience there.
