Do not use Brian Owens! He was very rude and controlling on the day of our wedding and it only got worse from there. He promised us our wedding video by December (wedding was in September) and he failed to deliver many, many times. He began to ignore my phone calls and emails for months. Keep in mind he was paid in full the day of the wedding. In February he finally replied to one of my emails saying he was burning and shipping the videos now. Sure enough, weeks then months went by with no video. I continued to send him emails and phone calls that became increasingly more demanding, yet professional.



Finally in May, I managed to get him on the phone and he promised (again) that he was shipping the video that week. Again, weeks then months go by and still no video. In August, I sent him a "final demand" email giving him one last chance to send the video before we take him to small claims court. To no surprise, that was ignored too, as were several subsequent messages. Unfortunately taking him to court meant we would have to go down there from the Bay Area to file the paperwork so we didn't act on this immediately.



In September (a full year after our wedding) I had the idea of having a friend call him and leave a message about getting a quote for her upcoming wedding. Within less than a minute he called her back. After greeting him on the phone, she handed it over to me. I very calmly explained who I was and apologized for ambushing him, but I really wanted the video from the most important day of my life. He proceeded to yell at me, swear at me, and call me inappropriate names. Never in my life have I ever encountered such behavior from someone in a professional setting, especially when I never raised my voice or attacked him first. He proceeded to come up with a bunch of personal excuses that held absolutely no water considering it took him less than a minute to return the call of a new prospective client. You shouldn't take on new clients if you don't have time to finish previous contracts that you have been paid in full for a year ago.



Anyway, a few weeks after that, we FINALLY got our video and it was total crap. The quality was awful, there was tons of background noise, and there were people blocking the camera during most of the ceremony. Also, the "cinematic" style was nothing like he claimed. One of my friends holding a camcorder could have done a better job. Lastly, he promised us a partial refund for all of the troubles. Needless to say we are still waiting for that.



Please, please, please don't let Brian ruin your wedding day memories. He is cheap, but there is a very good reason for that! You'd be better off paying an amateur who knows their way around iMovie!
