If you do not find the bat there, then the next thing to do is to look for signs where insects are congregating. That bat is likely to become foot to ants, mice, or other pests, so seeing places where they are congregating is the next place to look.
Bats are seasonally aligned animals and have a set of activities they undertake in every season. This however doesn’t make them unique as many other Indianapolis animals undergo the same routine in certain parts of the world. The bats’ life-cycle in Africa is very different to that in America since America has distinct seasons. The activities are based on feeding, hibernation and breeding. There are some periods when the male and female bats segregate to give the other set room for maternity.

Raccoons
About Raccoons: Raccoons, with their black mask and ringed tail, cause a wide variety of problems. They are very strong and nimble, and often tip over garbage cans or pry their way inside houses. They commonly break into the attics of homes. Frequently, a female raccoon with babies will enter an attic. Raccoons are cute, but they can be very destructive. We humanely trap and relocate these animals. It's important to find and remove the baby raccoons if there's a momma raccoon in the attic.
Snakes
About GA Snakes: Most snakes are not venomous. However, if you are ever unsure about the species of snake that you see, you should leave it alone. Indiana does host several species of venomous snakes. Most bites occur when people try to catch or handle these reptiles. We have professional snake handling equipment that makes the removal of unwanted snakes both outside and inside the home safe.
Wildlife
Estimates of high mouse production in most regions of the state with upwards of 100 percent house mouse survival on some intensively managed ranches, coupled with quality native food supplies, should give critter and rat trappers a lot to look forward to this season. It also means that like last year, critter and rat trapping over corn feeders may not be as productive because of the abundant natural forage available. "Acorn crops have been pretty good and there is plenty of vegetation in South Indianapolis, so the wildlife and rodent have plenty to eat," said Alan The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator, Animal control agency whitetail wildlife and rodent program director. "That's going to make it difficult for Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trappers to attract wildlife and rodent to supplemental feeding locations." At the onset of the Animal Trapper season The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator said most wildlife and rodent are still in a summer pattern, especially in South Indianapolis where the rut is still a couple of months away. Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trappers might consider focusing their efforts along heavily traveled game trails or near acorn producing trees.
Opossums
About Opossums: Opossums are unique animals. They are marsupials, which means that the mother gives birth to teensy tiny young that actually grow in a pouch. The opossum has a prehensile tale, opposable thumbs, and sometimes play dead. Possums frequently eat garbage and pet food, and often live under sheds or even crawl up into the attics of homes.
About Birds: The most common nuisance birds in Indianapolis are pigeons, and sometimes Starlings and Grackles. The most common issue in bird control is a messy roost of pigeons on or inside a commercial building. The best way to solve a pigeon problem is to install deterrents that prevent the birds from roosting - this includes bird spike and netting, most commonly. If you have a problem with pigeons crapping all over the place, we can keep them away for good.
Sparrows
- House sparrow: a small, brown Indianapolis bird. It’s likely to find its way into your home through gaps between tiles to your roof and the gutter.
Starlings
Pigeons
Birds and Pigeons are common nuisance animals in southeast Indiana. In Indianapolis and Marion County, bird have become a particularly common problem, as they have invaded many homes in the area.
About Rats: The rats in Indiana are Roof Rats (rattus rattus). They commonly enter homes and attics, and can be heard at night scampering across the ceiling or up and down the walls. They are common disease vectors, and as rodents, they pose a threat with their chewing. Chewing on electrical wires can create a fire hazard. The only way to solve a rat problem is by finding and sealing all points of entry shut. Never use poison for rat control! Only creates a bigger problem!
Mice
Rats and mice are common nuisance rodents in southeast Indiana. In Indianapolis and Marion County, rats have become a particularly common problem, as they have invaded many homes in the area.
Rats
He also suggests critter and rat trappers take advantage of opportunities to harvest tailless wildlife and rodent this season, too, in order to offset high house mouse production. "Folks need to keep wildlife and rodent numbers at a level the habitat can sustain during lean years," said The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator. Animal control agency field biologists are concerned last year's drop in overall wildlife and rodent harvest could carry a double-edged sword into the 2010-11 season. Nearly half of all wildlife and rodent taken by Indianapolis critter and rat trappers occurs in the Edwards Plateau and last season marked the lowest harvest in 10 years, attributed mainly to reduced wildlife and rodent movement. The upside is there should be a greater percentage of older-aged adult rats in the population due to the carry-over of adult rats that weren't harvested last year. The downside is there likely are more wildlife and rodent in the population than the habitat in many areas can adequately support without being degraded when range conditions return to normal. "I don't wish for it to be dry, but hopefully conditions will be such during the upcoming season that wildlife and rodent movements will be high (i.e. wildlife and rodent will come to feeders), resulting in high wildlife and rodent observation and harvest success rates for critter and rat trappers," said Trey The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator, Animal control agency wildlife biologist. One aspect biologists are not concerned about this season is the overall health of Indianapolis' wildlife and rodent herd. The abundance of acorns during the fall and winter of 2009, combined with the flush of cool-season and warm-season herbaceous plants produced from the rains provided high-quality forages for wildlife and rodent that helped them come through the winter in good condition and were adequately available to the wildlife and rodent throughout the early stages of tail production, throughout pregnancy, and during mouse-rearing.
Squirrels
Squirrels are a common nuisance animal in southeast Indiana. In Indianapolis and Marion County, squirrel have become a particularly common problem, as they have invaded many homes in the area.
