Country Furniture Restoration

We had a very old piece of furniture that was made by my husband's great great grandfather. When my husband inherited it he had stored this green looking cabinet in a storage shed for about 12 years. We took it to Furniture Restoration and asked them to strip and sand it down along with repairing the back of the cabinet since the wood had broken off as well as gotten wet at some point. Once it was to a point where it was ready to be stained we came back to look at the piece before deciding the color. We found out that the wood was Poplar and it had a dull bland look to it. So ...we decided to have it stained with some red/cinnamon stain (can't remember the name of the stain). We had no idea how beautiful it would end up being! It was definitely worth the wait and money to have it restored!
