I went into the Estero location today after a referral from my general practitioner. The nurse informed me that their office staff wasn't in and I had to call the Naples office. The first woman I spoke with was very nice and friendly. She helped me with all of my questions, and after getting an earlier appointment time offered to me I needed to check the availability of my babysitter, so i'd call back to confirm. I called back 6 (12:02 pm) minuets later, and the staff had gone to lunch. I left a message while making my daughter's lunch. Rhonda called me back (2:10 pm) and her first words were, "Is this Andrea? I couldn't make out any of your message because there was an animal howling in the background the entire time." At that point I almost thought she was joking, because i recall my daughter calling, "Mama!" and at that point i stop my message, and repeated my information. The rest of the call was as condescending and patronizing as her first sentence. "You don't know how to work the appointment system, so let me just do my job and you do yours." and "I don't know who else you talked to because I'm the only one who does this job here, so stop talking about what you talked to her about." were two other comments she told me. At the end of 8 minutes I was so offended and flabbergasted that someone lacking such basic people skills could hold a job, while other worthy candidates are out of work, that I ended the phone call and canceled my appointment. With that being said, I will never, ever be a patient of Michael Dent MD.
