General Info

Dr. Lee Roberson received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He went on to complete an internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center followed by a surgical residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Roberson then completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Roberson is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a proud member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons Candidate Group and a Resident Fellow in the Southeastern Surgical Congress. With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Roberson specializes in surgical techniques of the heart and lungs and performs cutting-edge, minimally-invasive procedures. He performs the surgical implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, heart valve repairs, heart transplants and coronary artery bypass surgeries. He has extensive experience with mitral and aortic diseases, including surgical repair of aortic dissection. Dr. Roberson has completed extensive research on improving and advancing patient care, including his work featured in The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. An Alabama native, Dr. Roberson is thrilled about practicing in his home state and joining a team who is committed to bringing the latest advancements in cardiac care to Central Alabama. Dr. Roberson and his wife are the proud parents of two children.
