I bought a birthday cake on Dec. 2, 2018 and it was stale and nasty! I was told to bring it back and I did and Rose is yet to call me after numerous calls and it's going on a week! I will NOT buy another cake, cupcake, etc. from here again! The service and food has went downhill! Ms. Diane is a rude idiot! If you are planning on buying anything beware! Stale,Stale,Stale!

Everything tastes great, and it feels like home when you walk through the doors. Cakes by the slice, special order cakes, cookies, squares, hot lunch, casseroles, dips...they have it all!
Everything is delicious and it feels like home when you walk through the doors. Great place for sweets, lunch, other savory foods. Love it!
I am located out of state and contacted the business to cater a local (Mobile, Al) family event. The owner responded promptly and was eager to accommodate my function given such a limited notice (approx. one week). I was optimistic and pleased she was attentive. The order was to feed a prospective of 20 people. Unfortunately, the food was not met with the satisfaction the owner proclaimed and family members ate sparingly. (Menu: baked chkn, pot roast, rice & gravy, peas, collard greens, cornbread muffins & layered lemon cake). The cake crust was hard and was not moist, the cornbread muffin similar in that they were also hard, the baked chicken could have used more baking as the skin was rather raw, the collards were not fresh but rather "doctored" canned greens. The tea and lemonade was saturated with sugar. I understand people have different palate and some things are excusable but I was most disappointed in management's response to my feedback. The owner, Ms McCoy contacted the following day inquiring about the service but became defensive when given feedback. She raised her voice at me when I questioned the two gallons of beverage for twenty people. Not to mention, she actually addressed me, the customer about an error an employee made in giving incorrect flatware. The lady who served me at pick up was most cordial and helpful. It is the owner who displayed disregard for her employees by justifying that her absence was reason for the food dissatisfaction. This basically minimizes the work of her own staff. Let me say interaction such as this makes it difficult to support our entrepreneurs and gives reason why I give a "one star" rating. Ms. McCoy refuted my thoughts with comments of how great she (her business/food) is... When we conduct good business, it speaks for itself and we do not have to self-proclaim it.
G's bakery at 1714 Dauphin Street, On 11/25/16, my mom was charged $24 for 1croissant, 2bagels, 2danish twists. She left a voicemail for management to call her about being over charged; G's has yet to do so. She was asked to pay for her lunch meal separately from her baked goods, she paid $16.50, for tea with no refill, French onion soup, and pastrami sandwich. The soup was not hot, the cheese barely melted and hardening quickly, and had BURNT RYE bread in it. Pastrami sandwich wasn't pastrami; it was roast beef/mystery. Mother inquired about the sandwich being wrong, and was told, "we have one person that makes sandwiches, and he needed a day off, so the pastry chef has been making them today." the sandwich wasn't even edible. Overall, a very bad & costly experience at G's bakery. G's deleted my original FB review from an 11/18/16 visit, so about that: The croissants, monkey bread, and bread loaves were BURNT. We asked if they always sell items so over cooked, and were told, "yes. That's the way HE cooks them." Also, The loaves of bread were stacked up against/touching the painted bare walls; not in bins/baskets. Other loaves/goods were placed directly on dirty black bakers racks; and not on clean towels or parchment. There were flies buzzing about, and landing on all exposed bread products; flies contaminate food with their filth, and can contribute to the spread of disease. The baked goods are over cooked/burnt, the meals being served are wrong, the staff has very little knowledge of products, and zero knowledge of how to address complaints and/or to fix an issue that is G's fault. The idea behind this business is fantastic; but the execution is subpar, at best. Which is unfortunate, because my family strives to support local businesses. Personally, on 11/18 I decided to not visit G's bakery again, due to the poor quality of products, over baking, and my concerns over the sanitation and safety with the display and storage of their baked goods.
Went here when we first moved to town. Tried to order cupcakes for my son's birthday, and said I wanted to pay upfront. I paid, and when I came to pick it up I was told I needed to pay for the toppers. I told that I'd paid when I placed the order, and they said they hadn't charged me for the toppers then. They were rude and the whole situation was ridiculous. I worked at a cupcake bakery in NC where we moved from, and when a customer says they want to pay off their order you charge them for everything, it's not complicated. And after everything was said and done they were so overly sweet I couldn't eat them. I'm not here to bash, but nothing about the experience was positive.
Amazing! Down home custom made baked goods. I really enjoyed this place, I would suggest trying the pecan bread.
Yummy deserts and beautiful desert themed tables...very impressive and elegant desert designs! You will love how they bring it all together and display your deserts!
Stopped by to get a few treats for my son's preschool class. It was the end of the day and they still had a decent selection. I LOVE the cupcakes! The cake part is really moist and delicious. Service was ok. There was another customer ordering a wedding cake and the shop is super small so I did feel kind of in the way and wanted to hurry out. I will for sure be coming back though.
I went to a nieces birthday party last week & she had a Flour Girl mermaid cake that was beyond adorable, but looks aside, this cake was the best cake I have ever put in my mouth! EVER! The cake was moist, the filling was so delicious I am not even a cake eater & I wanted to eat another piece! I have 2 kids with birthdays in a couple of months & I will definitely be ordering from there! Worth every single penny!
