Apparently this place is owned by a local minister. He should preach to the people running it about good customer service. I went in on a Sunday. They weren't busy, but the man and woman working there were more interested in chatting with what seemed to be locals. Not once was I greeted; whereas they greeted others. I was never once acknowledged until I was almost ready to leave. I was trying to look at something in a glass case right on top of the counter where the man was literally sitting there not 2 feet away. It took him almost 8 minutes if there was anything I wanted to see in the case. I was literally in front of him!!!!! He was literally not doing anything. The woman was chatting away with two locals. I told him that I was no longer interested, and that maybe they would sell more antiques if they took the time to even say hello to everyone who walked in the door. When I first arrived, he was talking to a local and offered that person a piece of pie. The other customer declined, but the man behind the counter was more interested in eating a piece of pie, and then upon leaving he tried to explain that he never saw me. Really? I'm pretty hard to miss. I told him that apparently he was more interested in eating pie than waiting on customers. Their selection is great, but most everything sold in this antique store was grossly overpriced, which is probably why they have such a great selection of items; except for furniture. Now Mitchell is a very tiny small Podunk town, and there really isn't much there.
