General Info
Henry J. Bratcher, DDS, MS is a specialist in orthodontics and has been serving and living in the Joliet-Morris-Grundy County for 30 years. Dr. Bratcher is the owner of Three Rivers Orthodontist. Our office strives to provide exceptional results using the most innovative methods. We follow all state mandated guidelines for restricted assistant duties. Our focus is the comfort and satisfaction of every patient. About Henry J. Bratcher, DDS, MS: -Bachelorā€™s and Post graduate degree from Illinois State University -Masterā€™s degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois -Orthodontic Certificate from the University of Illinois -Instructor at the University of Illinois Orthodontic School -President of Associated Orthodontist for more than 18 years -Recipient of various scholastic and military awards -Local resident of Grundy County All retention checks and minor bracket repairs are included in the initial fee. We offer several bracket systems including Damon and use colored or fluorescent elastics for the kids. Patients actually see a doctor, not a assistant. The doctor conducts all consults and explains the treatment plans personally. The wires are custom fitted for each individual by the doctor. A 6'4" boy and a 5'" girl obviously do not have the same size arches and are therefore, not given the same arch wires. In other offices everybody is given the same arch wires by an assistant. Its like an assembly line, in a factory, where no thought is given to individual differences. The result is over expansion of dental arches in smaller people which could lead to gum recession when older. Also, we do not use computer generated arch wires from California so the assistant can place them. Is this modern technology or as I believe beyond common sense when the doctor can custom fit it chair-side and cost $700.00+ or less? The parents are always welcome in the treatment room. Other offices falsely evoke the HIPPA laws to prevent this. Why? Because they don't want you to see an assistant, not a doctor, does all the work. My Philosophy: I believe in "The Golden Rule." In Orthodontics this would be to correct the problem in the most time and cost-efficient way and get lasting results. This means using the least amount of braces, the least amount of time, get lasting results, and charge accordingly (Lower Overhead = Lower Prices). Most cases are started at 10-13 years of age for girls and 12-15 for boys. Early Phase 1 Treatment (6-9 years of age) is only done if necessary for psychological or developmental reasons. Their Philosophy: A PROFIT-DRIVEN philosophy using all the gimmick below to get your business. They often use Invisalign type of products and / or try to get 2 phases of treatment out of most cases. The first phase is 6-9 years of age, the second at 10-15 years of age. The result is a 30% plus or minus increase in their income because your child is in braces for most of their childhood life. If you are in a PPO, they use palatal expanders, holding arches, and other appliances when not needed so they can legally jack up your fees. You're also charged extra for minimal things like color elastics, late payments, etc. We will not deceive you or use gimmicks to get your business 1. No video games, contest, testimonials, t-shirts or give-ways 2. No pushy sales job. We will not call you, entice you, badmouth or low-ball the competition to get your business 3. No false claims of having superior braces or mechanics 4. No five star rating-Dr. Bratcher has been contacted to buy a five star rating but refused. These phony ratings are not earned but bought and controlled by the buyer. The really unethical offices will purchase themselves a five star rating and their competition a low rating. Be very skeptical of four and five star doctors. 5. No so called complementary x-rays that were probably never needed
