Shanghai Dumpling Shop

I am rating the dumplings only. These are the best Shanghai-style "soup dumplings" on the West Coast. "Soup" since they are very juicy inside. Hard to beat Joe Shanghai's dumplings in Manhattan's Chinatown, but these really come close. Try crab and/or crab with pork. I like crab, but it's good to have a comparator on the table -- they're both good. Be careful though, as the "soup" is very hot inside. Pick up the dumpling with a chopstick or fingers carefully so as to not tear them and spill the juices. Support the bottom of the dumpling with a large spoon (provided usually -- and if not, ask for one) and bite into it carefully, catching the spilling soup with your spoon. Enjoy!
