Overall

I, like many people below, had a horribly negative experience with Milford Spice. However, they have done a 360. There have been many horror stories of companies doing groupon promotions and going so far as to be put out of business because they can't handle the massive amounts of orders from groupon-happy people. Should they be prepared, yes. But then again in a food type business, I suppose you couldn't really stock mass supplies of things not knowing for sure if 50,000 orders really will come in.



Long story short, their spices are AMAZING, your not going to get something like this at the grocery store. I just made an order and it was ready in 5 minutes. I've emailed Laura a couple times over the last few months for random questions here and there, she replies with-in minutes. She's very accommodating and has even filled special requests for me.



There's people complaining about not being able to get off the emails, I too was having a problem (getting multiple of the same email) I emailed Laura it was fixed in 20 minutes and never happened again... And I really don't think that's an appropriate reason to leave a 1 star review.



Anyway, I think everyone that's had a bad experience should give them another shot.

Don't ever order anything from here. Laura will lie to you repeatedly saying they will ship your order, but you will never see it. She will take your money, promise you that your order is coming for months, then completely ignore your requests for a refund. Completely unethical company. They should be in jail. It's been 9 months and I haven't received an order or refund. They won't respond to BBB. I agree with all the other one star reviews that said any positive reviews are friends or family.

I decided to purchase from this company during the groupon sale they had Last year in March, and then subsequently placed my order on 3/26/2012. (yes you read the date correctly) Over a year ago. I spend 54.57 on my total order this was above and beyond the groupon amount. They never shipped me anything not one spice. I don't know what you would call this other than theft. Laura took my money just fine and then never sent me my order. They are criminals and should not be trusted.

This is not a complaint about the length of time to deliver (which was horrible and mismanaged to the fullest)



But more about the lies that Laure dishes out, the constant spam emails that they will not take anyone off, and also when I got my order there was duplicates of the spices i ordered which seemed awesome till i looked more into the box and saw that a bunch of other spices were taken out(i assume to ship it sooner than a 6 months after purchase, my order took 5 months, missing spices and horrible customer service.



Do yourself a favor and do not listen the the 5 star reviews which seem to all be local to the business and friends of them...



I was beyond patient with them and understood why things went haywire, but to send me duplicate spices for ones that were not on hand(and i spoke with laura about waiting for the right ones) and to spam my email everyday and ignore all emails to stop and also going through their unsubscribe option which does not work i have to say horrible company and horrible owner

This my second review for Milford Spice Company. My first review was only 3 stars because I had to wait so long for my order to come, however, when I received it, the spices were incredible!



This time, I am happy to say that I emailed them with my concerns before my second order. Laura assured me that my order would be delivered to me in 10 to 14 days or less.



Well, I am delighted to report that I had my order in 5 days, and as expected, the spices were fresh and wonderful! I know this company had a rocky start with very long waits for the product to be delivered, but I would encourage you to give them another try. I know that they are trying very hard to get things running smoothly, and my current order proves that. I also got a response to my email in a very short time and the service was better than promised.

Overall

They take your money and never ship product! Opened a complaint with BBB and had to request charge back from bank! Stay away!

HORRIBLE customer service. Order placed on 12/31/12, received email stating it had shipped on 1/9/13. Despite several emails I have been unable to get either my order or my money refunded. Numerous emails have gone unanswered. This was my third order with Milford Spice Company. I had the same problem with my first order but they did send it after I emailed them and complained. My second order went well and arrived in a timely manner (wonder if it had to do with the fact that it was my highest order?). Laura (from MSC) has told me numerous times that she would 'look into' my order but then I never hear anything more. Twice I have asked to have my money refunded and the order cancelled - no response. I will be filing a complaint/dispute with my credit card company and going back to ordering from Penzeys. Buying locally doesn't work when the local company rips you off!!

Ordered on April 4, 2012 and have not received order yet. No response to several phone calls trying every single extension option they have, no response to emails directly or through their website, complained with better business bureau who they summarily ignored as well and BBB basically said, that's it, sorry, case closed.

Despicable business practice that had the audacity to offer me a special on a second order when they haven't shipped the first one yet.

Not to mention I edited my order so that no spice on my order was listed as 'back ordered'. Despite exhausting every option except driving up there I have am left with my money, for all intent purposes, stolen and ignored by this sorry excuse of a company

Lousy service, totally unrelia...

Lousy service, totally unreliable, refuses to answer to customer complaints but sends tons of solicitation e-mails for more business. Owes me 80 bucks worth of spices since August 2012. It is now almost Thanksgiving. No other spice company ships this slowly, is this expensive (very small tins of spices for the price of what you pay for huge ones at other online fresh spice retailers who ship within less than a week and give you free shipping and free products plus samples with every order. The only reason I ordered from them was because of a Groupon deal. The spices turned out to be very good and as a serious chef I don't say this lightly. Nevertheless, if you have to wait three to four months to get basic products that they list as having in stock online, you have a serious problem. Won't ever order from them again and warn you not to do so either.,

As with other reviewers, I purchased the Groupon, placed my order in April, received numerous emails apologizing that they were overwhelmed with orders and several statements that my order would ship soon.



It's November and I still don't have my order. But here is what really pisses me off. They've been sending emails asking if customers like me wanted to add additional items to our orders before they shipped. How is it that Milford Spice has the time to ADD additional items to orders that are 7 months late but can't get the original orders out the door?



I don't know whether Laura and her company are running a scam or they are just possibly the worst business people I have come across in all my days. But what I do know is that they haven't a clue how to treat customers. Even if these spices are orgasmic, this experience completely overshadows any culinary value. Of course, I can't confirm that one way or another.. because I STILL DON'T HAVE MY SPICES!!!!

They love to sell Groupons but do not enjoy filling the orders. Order placed 03.24.12, as of August 1, 2012 my order still has not shipped. They are full of excuses that is, when you can get them to respond. They are still selling the exact spices I ordered over 4 months ago that they have yet to deliver.

I placed an order on 3/24 and still have not received it, though I have received multiple responses explaining it would ship soon, the last one guaranteeing that it would ship in June, yet a month later nothing. I tried to be patient, understanding that this company was overwhelmed with their Groupon promo, but this is ridiculous. I also find it suspicious that they discontinued their FaceBook page, I suppose as a way of camouflaging the current situation from potential new customers. I will never order from this company again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I also bought a groupon. It has been 7 weeks since I placed my order. All I get from Laura at Milford Spice is excuses. I also have not gotten any help from Groupon. Do not buy from this company as they are taking money, and not shipping orders.



There are also 12 other people who were mad enough to file a ripoff report at ripoffreport (dot)com. on this company.



The facebook page has been removed completely, but they still have an open twitter account @MilfordSpice, but they do not respond there either.

I have been waiting since Marc...

I have been waiting since March 24th 2012 for my order. Nothing but excuses and empty promises. I have had emails directly from Laura. I have been told at least 3 times that my order would ship. Still no spices. I own a small business. If we treated our customers this way they would shop somewhere else. There are many other internet spice dealers who can provide the same quality with excellent service and delivery. If you don't get this, I predict your company will soon close. You say you are expanding your company to fulfill orders? How can you do that when you have also said that you are selling these spices at a loss? It doesn't make any sence at all. This is your second groupon deal. You knew you should have prepared. I suggest anyone who purchased the groupon should consider getting a refund back from groupon and complain. Update: spices came after two months of waiting, lies, and terrible customer service. It's not worth the frustration and lies from the owner Laura. I wish I could leave a zero star review. Buyers Beware!

The response by the company to my inquiry was super fast -- the matter was resolved in a matter of minutes. The product is great as well: my 12 yr. daughter enjoys cooking even more now. She wants to have a "collect" their spices, so we are definitely coming back! As to the negative feedback out there..., I know it's a new company, so if they did have a rough start, they seem to have gotten it under control now. Thanks. O.

Zero stars

I would give them zero stars, but they won't let me. I ordered from these people online on Jan 25th. Never got my order. Finally got a refund. They don't answer emails or the phone. I complained on their Facebook wall, they finally refunded me, erased my posts and blocked me from posting. That's ok, there are other ways to get the word out. They have time to post stuff on Facebook, but no time to get orders out.
