Abell Junior High School, established in 1993, is a public school offering educational instruction to students in grades seven and eight. The school has an enrollment of more than 800 students and is a part of the Midland Independent School District. It features cobalt-blue, conical-shaped gales, glass-doored, sound proof practice rooms, specially coated magnetic write-on, wipe-off boards in classrooms, computerized library and motion sensors in bathrooms. The school s two-story industrial technology area features large garage door access, chain hoist and pull-down electrical outlets. It offers various extracurricular activities, such as student council, newspaper, yearbook and Spanish club. The school provides educational programs in language arts, science and health, foreign languages, math, social studies, science, English and physical education.
