Chase Construction

Absolutely horrible experience, where do I begin... my roof was showing it's age so I was searching for a roofer and after getting 4 or 5 bids on the job went with Chase Construction. So we sign the contract pay for the material and about a week later the job begins. After he tore off the old shingles he noticed the material we received was not the color we had ordered, so up go the tarps on the roof and just my luck here comes the rain... then the right colored material finally arrives and this guy did not measure both sides of my roof so he was still not able to do anything. The whole time there is nothing protecting my roof except some lousy tarps which trust me when I say are not sufficient during an Oklahoma storm. So as I am waiting for my roof to get finished this my attic is getting soaked which luckily for me only destroyed one bedroom in our home. Finally the right size material comes in and he is able to start after four weeks one ruined room and a wife on the edge of a breakdown. He gets most of the way complete on the roof not all of the way mind you just most of the way, then starts insisting I pay him the remainder of the money on the contract. When I refuse and tell him I want the job 100% completed, and ask who is going to fix our bedroom where by this time has mold growing from 3 walls and the ceiling, he basically tells me it is not his problem he showed up at my work making a scene there came to my house after he did not get what he wanted from me beating on the doors like a mad man freaking out my wife. Bottom line this is the worst experience with a contractor I have ever had. I have learned a few things though, make sure your contractor is insured... make sure he is there when the material arrives to check it all out, I can't believe I am saying this one but make sure he measures everything, and check his work on other jobs get references don't be afraid to voice your concerns a good contractor will not get offended by that this one... well I could go one for another page or so but I had to hire someone else to finish his work.
