Until recently I was eating at this location several times a week just because I like one of the Outback salads. Unfortunately, service is not the strong suit at this location. It doesn't matter if business is slow or crowded, service is not what it could be and should be. Often my meals were served without the benefit of silverware or napkins; one server was so utterly unobservant he actually asked if I was enjoying my meal. I had to tell him I would enjoy it a lot more if Ihad something to eat it with. I requested condiments one night - four times! - but never got them. I was not going to eat my meal without them and finally got up to request the bill for my soft drink and to leave. The server had the audacity to argue with me about whether I was going to pay for the meal I coud not/would not eat, and it was a loud argument that finally got the manager's attention. Service was better for a few trips after that, but only because I had made such a spectacle of myself. As the staff changed through the weeks, service degenerated to the previous lows pretty quickly.
The poor service at this location was not limited to a single service person; it doesn't seem to matter who the server is. So I suspect it must have something to do with the lay out of the restaurant, or their procedures, or maybe training. I don't know. But surely that many service people cannot all perform that poorly by chance.
It was a convenient place to eat, near my home, and I like their salads. I would probably still be eating there almost daily, despite the poor service, but since Mesquite passed their anti-smoker ordinances I don't feel me or my nasty money is welcome in Mesquite or at Outback any more.

If you like a thin, dry sirloin steak you should come here. Otherwise go to one of the other steakhouses in town. Service was attentive, but the food was very disappointing.

Bloomin Onion cooked in old grease, Atlanis Salmon was fishy, and the Prime rib was poor and tasteless. From a standpoint of time, we couldn't afford to send the entrees back and have to wait another 30 mins to eat; a sad comentary on a forty-five dollar meal. This was our third and last visit to the steak house down under.

Another cookie cutter steakhouse. Service lacks though. if not completely satisfied, do not expect the management to act. At best you will simply get a "Gee, I'm sorry." We have discontinued going to Outback altogether prefering instead the nearby Texas Roadhouse Restaurant which is of far higher quality for a great deal less money.
