Tres Manos Weaving of New Mexico, Inc. is a non-profit that helps low income women from the colonias communities in southern New Mexico learn the art of weaving with free training and earn income through sales of their beautiful hand-woven garments. Over 100 participants have been trained. Each weaver receives 70 percent of the retail price of their work. Helping people use their creativity and artisan skills to improve their family's economic security makes Tres Manos a special opportunity in a rural area where education, transportation, and English skills can be barriers to success. Operations of Tres Manos Weaving of New Mexico, Inc. are funded 30 percent from sales, weaving classes for the public, art gallery sales, private donations, and grant funding. All donations are tax deductible and much appreciated.
