At Happy Smiles, we provide a wide range of dental services, including conscious sedation. We encourage the entire family to participate. Parents are always welcome in treatment rooms. We are a doctor owned practice that cares and strives to offer the best possible experience for your children. Our dentists are all MS licensed general dentists who cater to children of all ages! By offering a friendly environment full of energy, fun and games, we are able to help children overcome any anxiety. They can sit back and relax with a new balloon, play with toys, and even watch cartoons while they're having their teeth checked. Have to let everyone know again. If you're looking for a great Dentist along with a great staff and atmosphere then Happy Smiles is the place. My daughter absolutely hated going to the dentist until we went to Happy Smiles when they 1st opened. Dr.Harris is great and he makes sure what needs to be done gets done. I have and would refer anyone to Happy Smiles!

Dental Examination
A dental exam is an important first step in evaluating your child’s oral health. The health of your child’s teeth and mouth are important for their overall well-being. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a visit to the dentist within six months of the eruption of your child’s first tooth, or by their first birthday.
X-rays
Our dentists will evaluate your child’s mouth, including the teeth and supporting structures, and may recommend dental x-rays. Dental x-rays are an important diagnostic tool that provide valuable information not only about your child’s teeth but about their growth and development.

Teeth Cleaning
A professional dental cleaning will remove any plaque, tartar and stains from the teeth. Removing plaque and tartar at regular intervals decreases your child’s risk of developing gum disease and tooth decay.
Fluoride Treatment
The placement of SDF is a quick and painless procedure, taking only a matter of seconds. This procedure does not require any local anesthetic or drilling, and the SDF liquid is simply brushed onto the cavity area of the tooth. Halting cavity progression may require several applications, and your dentist will review their recommendations regarding SDF specific to your child’s tooth with you.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are thin white coatings that are applied to the chewing surfaces of back (molar) teeth. The chewing surfaces of molar teeth contain multiple pits and grooves which are difficult to clean with brushing and flossing alone. These areas can harbor plaque and bacteria, increasing the risk of developing tooth decay.
Space Maintainers
If a baby tooth is lost prematurely, a custom-made space maintainer may be necessary to save space in your child’s mouth for the permanent teeth to later come in properly. Baby teeth may be lost prematurely as a result of dental trauma, dental disease, or part of orthodontic treatment.

Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a fluoride-containing antimicrobial liquid that is placed on a tooth with a cavity to prevent the cavity from progressing. In some instances, if your child has a cavity, their tooth may benefit from having SDF placed on it rather than a white filling or crown.

Pulpotomy
If your child’s cavity reaches the nerve tissue inside their tooth (known as the tooth pulp), a procedure called a pulpotomy or pulpectomy will likely need to be performed on it.
Root Canal Treatment
This is often referred to as a “baby root canal” and involves removing the affected nerve tissue of the tooth and placing a sedative material in its place. The tooth is then typically covered with a crown in order to protect it and restore its strength. This procedure helps preserve the baby tooth until it is time for it to fall out naturally.

Tooth Extractions
If a dental extraction is deemed necessary, the tooth will be anesthetized and gently rocked back and forth until it is wiggled out. This procedure involves minimal discomfort for your child.
