Overall
Omni Healthcare needs to enter the computer age

Omni Healthcare needs to enter the computer age. Three times since I have been a patient of an Omni Healthcare doctor my prescription refills have not been filled after waiting over 48 hours. What is the point of the doctor saying, "You can just call in for refills," if his staff will not fill the refills. Voicemail was invented in 1975 at Bell and Xerox labs. Most doctors offices have and USE their voicemail so that patients can call in for refills and expect refills in 48 hours when the office is open. Omni Healthcare offices where the doctor resides claim to not have voicemail. Omni Healthcare offices where the administrative people reside claim that voicemail does exist and is used. Who is right about this and who is wrong? They cannot both be right. When I call my regular medical doctor's office I can leave a voicemail to ask for refillls. And I will be called back to ask to verify the information when the nurse can get to my call. Because my Omni Healthcare doctor is an endocrinologist he does not have the same hours as my regular MD. By the time my endocrinologist goes to work I have already been at work for two hours. In those two hours my busy job has made me forget I need to call. If I could have left a voicemail with Omni Healthcare I could have done it at any time. And I would be called and I would answer when the nurse is ready to process my refill. I asked my endrocrinologist to give me enough refills to last till my next visit, but he was busy and said, "you can just call in for refills." So when you pick a doctor be sure you are going to get the proper support from the doctor's staff. Or maybe you should just call a week before you need any refills. If you don't die from the surge in blood pressure you might just get those in a week.
