Overall

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.

To summarize the story below in case you do not want to read the details: this dealership sold us a truck with a shot engine.

Purchased a 2005 Ford Ranger. Owner fraudulently claimed the truck was in great condition. We put significant money down. Upon leaving the lot we noticed a puff of smoke from the exhaust. The exhaust smoke got worse and more frequent over the next week. We took the truck to our mechanic who suspected worn valve seals and quoted us $1500 for the repair. I called Hooda the owner who offered to pay half if we towed the truck to their mechanic in Modesto who would do the repair for a lower price, so we had the truck towed to Modesto from Sacramento. Finally got in touch with the owners several days later only to have him tell us the problem was not the valve seals but that the truck actually had a blown piston rings and the only solution was either a complete engine rebuild or replacement.

So, this place sold us a truck with a shot engine. We had no other options so we purchased a used motor for $1611 and had it shipped to the mechanic. John, the other owner, promised to pay $600 for the repair - $400 for the labor and $200 reimbursement toward the engine cost, which was not satisfactory but better than nothing. Engine replacement took about a week. We picked the truck up from the mechanic and drove it home to Sacramento. Two days later the check engine light came on and the truck began to idle very roughly and misfire severely. The truck is currently at our mechanic undergoing diagnostics and we have already racked up a $450 bill just in diagnostics. I also have yet to see a dime of the $200 that was promised towards the cost of the used engine.

In summary, we paid over 7k for a truck with a shot engine. The we paid $1600 for a replacement engine. Then we racked up several hundred dollars worth of rental car fees while the truck was in repair. Now we will be paying yet even more money to fix whatever issue is causing the truck's newest set of problems. I will be picking up yet ANOTHER rental car tomorrow. It has been two and a half months since we purchased the truck and we've accrued nearly 2,500 in losses so far, and we still do not have a functioning vehicle.

If you are reading this because you have had a similar experience with this dealership, I feel for you. You should file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, State Attorney General, your local District Attorney's office, The CA DMV and The CA Dept. of Consumer Affairs. We are stronger in numbers. Check their yelp page- it is filled with victim after victim sharing similar experiences with them.
