Manitowoc Public Works Department is one of the departments operated by the local government of Manitowoc in Wisconsin. The department is responsible for maintaining the municipal infrastructure in the city. It operates through several divisions, including streets, engineering, bridges, maritime metro transit and cemetery divisions. Manitowoc Public Works Department s streets division focuses on the maintenance of traffic signs and intersections, snow removal from sidewalks, weed cutting, cleaning of leaves and yard waste, brush pickups and installation of downtown Christmas decorations. The street division also focuses on the maintenance of launch ramps and several city equipment as well as other departmental vehicles from other agencies. The department s engineering division provides information to the public, builders, consultants and contractors regarding public works construction matters.
