General Info

As a full-service, community focused government agency, Manchester Police Department offers various law enforcement services. The police department functions under the jurisdiction of the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator. The department includes animal control and modern bicycle patrol units and beach patrol and marine divisions. The department undertakes cases related to elderly and child abuse and domestic violence. It offers drug interdiction, child safety and crisis intervention programs, as well as organizes school bus evacuations drills. The department also supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the use of illegal drugs, membership in gangs and violent behavior. It is located in Manchester, mass.
