Ultrasound
Cataract surgery is typically performed on an outpatient basis. The procedure removes the cloudy lens of your eye and replaces it with a clear artificial lens, called an Intraocular Lens or (IOL). This is a very common procedure that most people undergo at some point in their lifetime. Traditional cataract surgery can be done with ultrasound energy, while many patients choose laser-assisted surgery for a gentler approach and to correct mild to moderate amounts of astigmatism (irregularities in the shape of the eye).
