Accurate Eye Care

After being a long time spare pair customer, I decided to give accurate eye care a shot since they were taking my new insurance plan. Unfortunately, big mistake! First, I told the staff that i only wanted an eye exam to get a prescription but nothing else. They said that it would be impossible to give me only an eye exam and that I would have to do the other tests like glaucoma, contacts lens fitting, etc, (which resulted in a higher copay). Despite me telling them that I did not want those tests (I never have gotten those tests before), they refused to do just an eye exam. I then mentioned to Dr. Conforti that I was experiencing redness, dryness, and sometimes watery eyes with my contacts...he did some tests and said everything was normal and gave me a new trial pair of contacts (the same kind). Unfortunately, that did not change anything. I went back to Dr. Conforti for a follow up at which point he claimed I never told him about any of the above issues. He did the same tests over again and this time prescribed me medicated eye drops. He then told me he would be billing my medical insurance since it was now a "medical" visit and he expected to make a co-pay. I told the staff that I was told it would be a follow up exam and there would be no charge and that I am not agreeing to pay any co-pay or for them to bill my health insurance. In the end, the doctor did not give me a new brand of contacts to try out, and also told me to go get glasses, and then scheduled me for a follow up which I highly doubt I will go to. this place is highly unprofessional.
