On Saturday August 20, 2016 I awoke at 4:40 a.m. to my precious fur love of my life of 17 years having seizures in my bed beside me. I tried for 3&1/2 hours to get help from Anyone but ultimately I had to wait until Griffin's opened. The entire time she is still seizing. Dr. Griffin was running about 20 minutes late of all days however, because of this emergency they took her first which I was grateful for. A bit later I was told that they had her sedated and calm and she needed to stay for the weekend because I was told, if she seized again then I wouldn't be able to get help for her... This is the reason I assumed someone would be there with her the entire time. I reluctantly said ok because we're never apart, however, believing she would be cared for and she'd have someone there with her, I agreed. I wanted to speak with the Dr. and to see her first before I left but I wasn't allowed. I was told nothing about her condition as in whether he believed she'd live or what! She was never away from me so I was extremely worried about this causing her more stress since she has separation anxiety. I couldn't make contact at all since it was the weekend and had to call on Monday morning. No one ever called me during the weekend either to give an update on her condition. I assumed that someone would be with her throughout the weekend and had I known that they wouldn't, then I surely would not have left her there. Since I hadn't heard from them I assumed she was alright and I was estatic about picking her up. I called at 9 a.m. on Monday morning for an update and to let them know I was on my way when Dr. Griffith got on the phone and told me she had died. I completely broke down. They hadn't even called me when he got there to notify me of her death, they waited on Me to call Them. When I went to pick up her body the Dr. still didn't speak with me. I then asked the receptionist what time she had died and she looked at me oddly and then said, "Just sometime during the night." They really had no clue because No One Was There With her! How long did she lay there dead?? So I am not happy at all with this place any longer. My precious baby had to die Alone in a Cage and no one even knows how long she lay there dead! My heart is shattered and it kills me to think of her laying there all weekend alone and unattended to. After 17 years with her and the past 9 years without ever even one night away from each other she dies in a strange place, in a cage, and alone without me. It has literally traumatized me. I admit it was a mistake on my part for not asking if someone would be there the entire time with her, but I just assumed they wouldn't dare leave such an elderly, seizing dog Alone. I hope and pray that Dr. Griffith will make some much needed changes in the way of overnight care and in the form of his communication, explanations and updates with his patients. #sadheartbrokenmama

I dropped my dog off this morning at Griffin Hospital and I was told to call back at 4:30 after surgery. I did and then I was told to call back again before 5:30 because he was still in surgery. I called back at 5:15 PM and the attendant put me on hold and no one ever came back to the phone to tell me how my dog handled his surgery. I finally hung up and called back and no one would answer the phone. And they do not have a phone service. They will get a piece of my mind when I pick my dog up, dead or alive. I am livid. It is going to be 36 tonight and I wanted to know if they were going to leave any heat on. If my dog got out of surgery around 5 PM that means he won't eat or drink anything from Thursday night to Saturday morning. Consider this if you want to leave your animal there for surgery. And consider that they leave the animals there overnight unattended after surgery. This is careless, unprofessional and I'll never take my animal there for surgery again. The surgeon could be well-trained, I don't know, but I gave a 1 rating because no one cared that I'll spend the entire night not knowing if my dog even made it through surgery.
