Founded in 1979, Event Medical Services, Inc was formed by a group of physicians for the exclusive purpose of providing advanced life support services at special events on a contractual basis. The principals soon realized that the greatest area of need was not the advanced program, rather a comprehensive basic first aid and basic life support service that would permit quick assessment of individuals who sustained an injury or became ill during an event, the rendering of necessary first aid care until the patient recovers or is safely evacuated from the event site ( via private auto, ambulance or paramedic squad ), and accountable documentation to reduce the liability exposure on behalf of the event promoter or venue. Two divisions of the company served our customers: Medical Services and EMS Medical Products serving the pre-hospital emergency medical equipment and supply needs of the industry. We celebrated our 30th year in business during 2009. The SERVICE portion of the business closed in May, 2005.The EMS MEDICAL PRODUCTS division continues to operate and serve the pre-hospital emergency industry! What emerged during that 27 year span was a program which became a focal leader, not only in California, but throughout the Western United States. During 2004, there were 2, 588 events covered by Event Medical Services, Inc team members. This represented 4, 561 actual work assignments, for a total estimated audience during those various event programs exceeding ten million people. Since 1990, we have covered 45, 624 events ( 79, 951 actual work assignments ). We are proud to have had numerous annual and multi-year contractual agreements with some of California's largest and most active facilities. We had more than 100 different clients who utilize the services of Event Medical Services and we maintain a resource pool of medical professionals which totalled nearly 90 professionals! As noted, this portion of the business is no longer operational. In addition to formerly offering comprehensive on-site first aid and medical services, a separate division of the corporation, EMS MEDICAL PRODUCTS, sells a full line of pre-hospital emergency medical equipment and supplies. Customers for this division include many of the large fire departments, ambulance services, hospitals and police departments in the Western United States, plus paramedic squads, search and rescue teams, and industrial medical clinics. Being a distributor of more than 40 major manufacturers, Event Medical Services, Inc is able to utilize state-of-the-art equipment and supplies at event sites. We are a factory-certified repair center for Life Support Products equipment. Consulting and planning services remain available, to review existing on-site first aid programs ; or for the design and implementation of a comprehensive and cost-efficient first aid program, including accountable documentation and staff management.
