I purchased a combo ticket (Aquarium of the Pacific and Harbor Breeze tour) online, and discovered that this was the best way to get tickets: easily printed them from a kiosk in front of the aquarium, saving a wait in lines. The 45-minute harbor cruise includes great views of everything in Long Beach's Rainbow Harbor, and fascinating information about the history of the area. Highlights include views of the Queen Mary, the oil islands (loved learning about them!), a cruise ship, and beautiful water and boats. We lucked out and saw two otters lounging on a buoy, and a couple of bottle-nose dolphins breached and blew right by the boat. Really, for $10-12, this is one of the best travel bargains that I've ever experienced.

Brandon R. was always smiling shins the bar and very friendly as well as informative despite our young children not being the best behaved passengers on the boat.Tour was just the right length of time! Saw the sea lions as well as the Queen Mary in the 45 minutes we were out! It was a lovely upgrade to our Aquarium of the Pacific tickets! Well worth it!

Very nice and relaxing tour of the Long Beach harbor, we got to see a few marine animals. Learned a lot about the area. Will recommend.

Did the morning whale watching tour and it was super exciting. We saw 2 humpback whales, 2 pods of dolphins(1 nursery pod) and a sea lion. The captain made sure to maintain his distance from the whale but get close enough for good pictures and views. In talking with some of the crew members, it's about 1-2% of all trips where they don't see anything so your chances are good in seeing something. It is definitely worth the money and a must do if you're in the area.

This tour is great if you want some info about the area but don't want to take an all day cruise. This one lasts about 45 minutes and is very reasonably priced.

This 45 minute informatively narrated cruise takes you through Long Beach Harbor out to the open ocean, past the Queen Mary, and cruise ships. We got very close to the huge commercial ships that are anchored outside the harbor, and to several of the "islands" that contain well-disguised oil rigs in the harbor. We saw sea lions, and seagulls. Snacks and drinks are available on board. A great trip to combine with a visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific right next door! The cruise is very reasonably priced for everyone.

Incredible price for a 45 minute tour of the Long Beach Harbor, just $12 and my daughter, under 5 years old, rides free. We were so lucky too, on our very first tour, we saw wild Sea Lions and 3 Dolphins swimming in the harbor!!! The Captain said that is very very rare to see dolphins in the harbor like that.

We had the most amazing experience! We are from Utah and so we never see marine life. We were out on the whale watching cruise when suddenly we were surrounded by dolphins! They were jumping and playing all around us, you could look over the side of the boat and see the detail of their faces! It was breathtaking! The staff was so kind and knowledgeable, they made us laugh and gave us so much information.. Thank you for such a memorable experience, we will definitely be back!

The 45-minute Rainbow Harbor tour was fantastic. The tour information was fascinating, and the crew were friendly and informative. We lucked out and managed to see a couple of female sea otters relaxing on a buoy, and two bottle-nose dolphins 'blew' and jumped near the boat (in the harbor!). If you visit the Aquarium of the Pacific, the harbor cruise is just steps away from the front entrance of the aquarium. Very convenient and easy to board. I purchased a combo ticket online (aquarium and harbor cruise), and easily printed the tickets at a kiosk just outside the aquarium. The tour includes a great overview of the harbor and Long Beach - with great views of the Queen Mary, a cruise ship that happened to be in the harbor, and much more. Take this tour. You'll be glad that you did.

This is super fun! Get there a half an hour early or more to get in line. That's if you care about sitting in the front of the boat. Those people that sit there don't seem to budge. Otherwise, when you see dolphins and if you are lucky enough to see whales then you are constantly getting up and running to the side of where they are. So it kinda doesn't matter if you get there super early.

Great for kids and adults. They have a full bar and sell candy, chips, and hotdogs. Staff is friendly and very professional and eager to answer questions. We got to see more than a few whales and lots of dolphins! My 4 year old wasn't too impressed. I thought he would be but he seemed to just want to run around. I'll try to bring him again when he's a little older. My husband and I loved it so much we talked about just coming here for a day date

Quoted times should be considered a guideline and are weather dependent. Dock staff were OK, boat staff were great. We went out 1 hr late, (due to weather) but they stayed late and delivered on finding whales.

I went with my two kids age 10 and 12. It is a pretty long drive out to where the whales are, and it gets colder as you go out. But there are so many whales out there that you are pretty much guaranteed to see something. We were lucky and saw a blue whale in march. They also had a biologist on board who gave us a lot of information, plus she went around to every person on the boat and you could ask her any questions. It is worth it to get there early to get in line to get on the boat early. We were there 30min early and there was already a line. But there was also a cute sea lion roaming around, and pelicans to watch. We got some hot dogs and stood in line and just hung out.

Aye this tour was awesome. Saw some grey whales and a whole bunch of dolphins. The boat is huge and they have snacks. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. The tour guide was awesome. All and all it was a good experience and I recommend it to everyone just looking to do something different.

Our family really enjoyed the Whale Watching tour! Memorable experience that even my 4 year old loved. We all want to go again. We weren't expecting to see as many whales as we did!! Awesome time!

I took my granddaughters and they had a wonderful time. We found a whale and other marine life but the best part was spending a beautiful day on the boat in the water. By the way, the smaller boat is terrific for viewing whales. Do use this company, they are first class.

Daughter and I spent a leisurely afternoon on this tour. A nice large boat with plenty of seating cruises out of Long Beach harbor and out into the ocean looking to view sightings of whales, dolphins and other marine life. While we saw no whales we did sight a small school of dolphins and enjoyed their antics chasing the boat and jumping out of the water. Also saw some seals and seal lions frolicking. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and was very enjoyable. The are snacks for purchase on board as well as beverages. You need a good hat, sunglasses & sunscreen. A jacket is good too as it was fairly cool pm the water and out in the wind. An Aquarium employee helped in sighting the creatures and providing plenty of info along the way. It was also interesting to see all the cargo ships in port and nearby on the sea. Great way to spend the afternoon, many shops, restaurants, and other adventures and the Aquarium are nearby back on shore

We've been on a few and of course you are never guaranteed to see whales but with Harbor Breeze, you have the best chance - docents from The Aquarium of the Pacific ride along and explain what you're seeing, why it is important and what you're not seeing. I feel it's educational and interesting. Additionally, they always post great pics online too, so you can leave your camera in the waterproof bag and enjoy your time on board clean, well managed boats.

It was a great day. We saw 8 Grey Whales, 2 Humpback, and a Finn Whale. There is an expert from the aquarium who talks about the whales and answers questions. Dress warm. It was upper 70's at the dock but gets cold on the water.

Saw three whales and a few dolphins. Clean boat. The whole process is very organized. Getting to the dock is super easy. It is very important that you line up an hour before your tour. Also, wear warm clothes. It is freezing out there. A lot of people were barfing everywhere. One man was making those gross barf gargling sounds, and little kid was throwing up on her parents lap. Enjoy!
