I was a tenet at one of Jim Kemp's apartment building for three years. During which I found his amateurish way of managing his property boarding being quaint and inadequate. Problems and concerns addressed to Jim usually took days to weeks to address if they were not ignored but he was always friendly. Jim never did fix the hallway closet door or the sticking sink spray after which we stopped asking when things went wrong we just fixed them ourselves. Jim and his wife always greeted us with a hello and even gave us small presents on the holidays. He gave a true down home feel to how he ran his property, until we moved out. At that time we found that he was quite savvy when it came to adding up fees to deduct from the deposit, including over charging from prices stated on the lease and billing for services that were deemed acceptable or not worthy of mention during the walk-thru. It is apparent that the motives of Jim Kemp and Lake & Country Homes are obvious, maintaining the veneer of down home charm to others while maximizing profits for themselves.
