The Kauai County Water Department works to provide safe drinking water for the residents and visitors of Lihue, Hawaii. It operates a range of water management and conservation programs. The department monitors and operates deep well pumping stations and water systems. It maintains a more than 400 miles of pipeline. The Kauai County Water Department operates over 100 storage tanks and control valve stations. It also offers engineering, planning and procurement services. The department collects, treats and distributes potable water. In addition, it employs a staff of nearly 75 individuals. The Kauai County Water Department operates as a semi-autonomous enterprise department of the County of Kauai.
