R. Grady Ford has a diverse legal background with experience ranging from representing clients in commercial bankruptcies to criminal prosecutions to adoptions. Grady is well respected by his peers, and has been selected three times as a West Virginia Super Lawyer Rising Star (2018, 2019, 2020). Since returning to the Greenbrier Valley and joining the Firm in 2015, his practice has focused on providing legal counsel and services to municipalities, political subdivisions, and businesses, as well as a robust family law (divorce, custody, domestic relations, child support, etc.) and criminal defense practice.
Prior to moving back home to Lewisburg to join the Ford Law Firm, PLLC in 2015, Grady spent two years representing the City of Charleston as an assistant city attorney in the City Attorney’s Office. Since moving his family back to Lewisburg, Grady has continued to represent municipalities, government boards, and political subdivisions in his private practice, serving as city attorney for municipalities in the greater Greenbrier Valley and litigating various matters before circuit courts and the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. In addition to representing municipalities and general litigation, Grady has devoted and developed a substantial portion of his practice to representing families and individuals in family law and criminal matters.
Mr. Ford is an ABA Fellow, served as President of the West Virginia State Bar from 1996 to 1997, has served on the West Virginia State Bar Board of Governors, the Board of the West Virginia Bar Foundation, as Chairman of the Young Lawyers Section of the West Virginia State Bar, and as Chairman of the Real Estate Section of the West Virginia Bar Association. He has also served on the Board of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, and was an adjunct professor of Business Law at Greenbrier Community College Center for over twenty years.
Richard E. Ford, Jr., is a partner in The Ford Law Firm and has practiced in Lewisburg since 1981, with an emphasis on residential and commercial real estate transactions, probate, estate planning, and business and contract matters.
