Founded in 1968, Academy Bus is one of the largest privately owned ground transportation companies in the United States. The company operates more than 600 motor coaches from seven locations in New Jersey. It also has sales offices in New York and Philadelphia. Academy Bus provides a wide variety of charter services, including general charters, casino trips, travel industry and tour operator charter service, professional and university sports team charters, events and convention charters, group sightseeing tours and school field trip transportation. The company also provides commuter transportation services in New York and New Jersey. All Academy buses are equipped with heating and air conditioning systems, two-way radios for immediate contact between the driver and dispatch operations center and undercarriage storage compartments. Academy Bus is headquartered in Hoboken, N.J., and operates terminals in Hoboken, Leonardo, Toms River, Pomona, Perth Amboy, Secaucus and Westampton, N.J.
