Akers Elementary School, established in 1963, is located in Lemoore, Calif. The school is affiliated to the Central Union School District, and offers classes in grades kindergarten through eight. Its various subjects include mathematics, language, physical, and computer education. Akers Elementary School also offers arts, and music, includiing jazz and concert bands. It also has science and general knowledge, and art clubs. The school library is equipped with more than 20,000 books, and provides teaching aids, such as videos, computer programs, and laser discs for teachers. The school also has a student council, which organizes fund-raising programs, and special activities, such as dress-up days and trips. Its sports activities include volleyball, basketball, track and field, free throw shooting, softball, mushball, and soccer. The school s football team also competes in a league with various other schools including Stratford, Central Union, Island, and Kings Christian. The school organizes parent-teacher association that assists in various school activities.
