Led by board-certified, Mayo Clinic-trained gastroenterologist Noel Fajardo, MD, and Harvard Medical School-trained gastroenterologist Filippo Cremonini, MD, the specialist team uses advanced tools and techniques for diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal problems. The specialist team has also published over 300 scientific papers in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology, adding to the wide array of expertise the specialists are able to diagnose, treat, and manage. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of 2016, 61.5% of age-eligible residents of Nevada had a recent colorectal cancer screening test. Nevada ranked 43rd among all 50 states and was significantly below the national average. LVG is striving to improve the rate at which age-eligible residents in Nevada receive their colorectal cancer screening tests. Depending on individual circumstances, many age-eligible residents in Nevada can receive a colonoscopy, the gold standard of colorectal cancer screening, at no cost to them. Some of the conditions the team at LVG specializes in are acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroparesis, celiac disease, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
