When you take a tour of the Apartments initially. Make sure you record everything that you see and document it with your own records. They will lie and tell you you did something when you didn't they make you pay for problems they caused. Video record them!!

am a previous employee of AIY Properties. DO NOT RENT AT ANY OF THEIR PROPERTIES!!! They are slum lords. They do not care about you, the tenant. They do not care about their employees. The do not care about the condition of their buildings. They only care about money in their own pockets. They don't give maintenance money to properly repair issues. If an appliance breaks, clean up and old one and switch it out, leaving the broken appliance for another tenant to deal with. They refuse to take calls from tenants, having the office workers screen the calls and assure they will have a return call shortly. Guess what, they don't call. Read the complaints made to the BBB, then read the responses from AIY. At the property I worked at, their responses are flat out lies. They made the work experience horrible. Tenants would complain to the office, we would send the complaint up to management with no response, then in turn leaving the office with no means of resolving the issue.

On top of all of that, their paychecks would BOUNCE!! So when they charge you a late charge on the 2nd of the month, and charge you for maintenance, all that money goes into their own pockets. You will have leaks in your apartments, bugs, drawers and cabinets that fall apart and your drains will forever be clogged. Also, beware of the "pre-war" buildings, especially in Akron... they have asbestos.

I recommend to rent elsewhere. The hassle and headaches you will get from living at an AIY Property isn't worth the cheaper rent.

AIY sucks they are straight slumlords, ghetto trailer hillibees running a run down office out of a house on clifton ave....please people you are forewarned never rent fron this dump of an agency

If you live in or around Lakewood Ohio and need to rent an apartment, avoid anything owned or managed by AIY Management Company.They are disreputable, unscrupulous, and poor landlords in general. All of their buildings have code violations that they have no intention of repairing; they will rent to anyone- including sexoffenders; their buildings appear to be secure but thay are not; and they will raise your rent at any opportunity. Their buildings have a high rate of being broken into and their tenants robbed. They will illegally keep your security deposit. They will serve you with eviction papers, even if they have no reason to evict you and you no longer live there. In short, they have no idea what's going on in their offices.BEWARE.l
