        SMILE Community Action Agency is a human service agency that offers a range of welfare services. Its Head Start program serves more than 1,300 preschool children through a variety of health, educational, social and nutritional activities. The program provides training and technical assistance to the staff members and parents. Its Early Head Start program provides early childhood development and family support services on a year-round basis to more than 80 children under 3 years of age. The agency s community services block grant program provides support services for community-based, antipoverty programs and projects, such as emergency assistance, transportation, housing and weatherization.
