General Info
The Guitar Center story began in 1959 when Wayne Mitchell purchased a small appliance and home organ store in Hollywood, California. In 1964, Joe Banaran approached Wayne in search of an outlet to sell a new line of guitars and amplifiers called Vox. Wayne agreed and renamed the store The Vox Center. The late sixties rechristened The Vox Center as The Guitar Center. Guitar Center reached the 100th store mark with the grand opening of the Little Rock, Ark., store in 2002. In 2005, G.C.'s acquisition of Music & Arts Center brought 62 new stores throughout the United States, catering to a completely new instrument market. The company s products include recording equipment, drums and percussion, disc jockey equipment and lighting, basses, live sound, amps, keyboards and musical instrument digital interface equipment, effects machines, guitars and a variety of accessories. The Guitar Center has a location in La Mesa, Calif.

Overall
customer service sucks like he...

customer service sucks like heck. I believe they consider themselves professional of instruments but they are nothing but racist people whos heads are stuck too far up their butts. made me waste my time and gas to go all the way over there just to be insulted and embarrassed in front of other customers there who were being helped by them like a customer should be. But oh no not I. I guess Asians are something they don't like for some reason at this particular store. So if you aren't Asian I think you are good to go and be served like you are suppose to be either that or they think that I looked poor and not worthy enough to waste time on because I was told that one of the reps had to call in to "Hollywood" and find his peeps there to evaluate an antique I had. Also that he would have to take apart every single piece of MY Antique to take pictures of it all single pieces. to send to them and that it was gonna take more then 1 hour to do all that and he had no time cause he was busy being a jerk. Then had the nerves to tell me go and look it up myself and then bring it back to see if they would want to buy it. How rude is that? I mean what kind of customer service is that. I had encountered four employees there and none of them even welcomed me into the store or thanked me for coming in. No all they did was talk with extra LOUD voices for nearby customers to hear them insult me. I am not happy with that experience and I am never going back there again nor do I recommend anyone to that particular store. I am not attacking all the stores that this company owns but I am attacking the one that insulted me and I feel like it was a racist thing. I am gonna do something about it.
