Banbu Sushi Bar & Grill

"I have to admit I've never been a big sushi fan. I've had it in San Francisco and L.A and it's always been well...sushi. I'd eat it, but never really enjoyed it. I have to say, Banbu Sushi has changed my mind. Super fresh and well balance flavors. The ginger wasn't overly processed so it was appetizing (not that skin pink nonsense). My two favorites were the Caterpillar roll and then the crunchy roll, but the protein roll was really tasty, too.

We will definitely be back with friends. Too good not to share."

Our server Mike was very pleasant and accommodating. The kumomoto oysters were awesome, and they allowed us to recreate one of our favorites that wasn't on their menu. The outdoor seating was a huge bonus!

I went in with high expectations and there were delightfully surpassed. I was with a group of 5, we ordered a ton of food, beer, and sake, just pointing to items on the wall at random, and the bill was totally reasonable (I think less than $40/person). Everything was fresh, delicious, and exquisitely prepared. The service was good, The Hamachi collar was phenomenal, so was the toro, and the sweet shrimp. I can't remember everything we ordered, but nothing was disappointing. The banana tampura was good, I enjoyed my visit and will be coming again.

I made reservations for a special dinner with my fiancé. We walked in, were greeted and sat immediately. The wait staff was attentive, but not overbearing. The music and decor blended well to create a pleasant atmosphere.

if you are shopping at Grossmont center Banbu sushi is a great place to relax before you go shopping . Or a great place to grab something to eat before going to the movies. This is a great ""girls lunch"" place. Also great for groups, kids seem to like it as well .

I had never had bad sushi or a dish there. It is always high quality and consistent, the menu is a good size menu . The service is professional. It’s usually packed at night so be prepared to wait a little while . I’m in love it is sooo good!"

"Absolutely Fantastic Sushi. I put this right up there with my other favorite R A sushi and actually may say that this is even better. They have a beautiful wall of rocks with green plants all over the restaurant. Great service, Fresh, generous sushi, and great selection of Sake.
