After receiving a BFA in Dance in 2002, they studied Dynamic Embodiment – Somatic Movement Therapy and Swedish Massage through Moving on Center School for Participatory Arts and Somatic Research.
Deep Tissue Massage
Description of Practice: Luke is a California certified massage therapist and nationally licensed Ayurveda Health Counselor with over 1100 hours of massage training in the Hendrickson Method©, orthopedic tui na, deep tissue, and other techniques. Luke began his studies with Dr. Hendrickson in 2011 and continues to be amazed by the profound results that Hendrickson Method® provides to his clients and practice. In addition to working at the Hendrickson Clinic, Luke maintains a private practice in Oakland and teaches Hatha and Tibetan yoga throughout California. He is currently enrolled in a four-year clinical practitioner program at Shubham Ayurveda, which will further supplement his integrated bodywork, yoga, and traditional medicine practice. Dr. Hendrickson’s training in the healing arts began in 1972 when he studied with Zen priest and Shiatsu Master Riuho Yamada. He then studied Lomi Bodywork with Robert Hall M.D. and trained in Reichian Bodywork with Phil Curcuruto D.C. His trainings also included studying with healers Rosalyn Bruyere and Muriel Chapman D.O. In 1982, Dr. Hendrickson completed an apprenticeship and four-year training program under the legendary Lauren Berry, RPT, a mechanical engineer and physical therapist who made significant contributions to the field of manual therapy. Chiropractic Adjustments
I have developed a style of chiropractic that includes soft tissue work including Hendrickson Method and Active Release Technique as well as traditional chiropractic adjustments.
Manipulation Therapy
Massage and Manual Therapy for Orthopedic Conditions was released in September, 2009. It is published in five languages and has become a required textbook for many advanced massage and manual therapy courses taught throughout the United States. Dr. Hendrickson is currently working on the third edition, which is scheduled to be released on February 1, 2023.

Pediatric Chiropractic
Dr. Scatina is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West and was a head doctor at the Hendrickson Clinic for over 16 years. Dr. Scatina incorporates the Hendrickson Method with chiropractic adjustments to successfully treat orthopedic conditions of all kinds. She uses traditional chiropractic adjusting with the very gentle techniques of craniosacral work and Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT). Dr. Scatina has been trained in the Hendrickson Method of Massage and Manual Therapy. She has also trained in neurological reeducation. In addition to providing care for adults, Dr. Scatina specializes in pediatric chiropractic care, treating children of all ages.
