I still practice in a "traditional" internal medicine setting, which means that your primary care medical needs will be taken care of both during the office visit, and if you need to be admitted to the hospital; thus providing a smooth transition to and from the hospital. In addition, I am the Medical Director of Heartland nursing home in Moline, where I still see my patients. I take pride in providing this type of comprehensive care, since very few primary care doctors still do that. I work closely with six other knowledgeable internal medicine doctors, and together we have over 75 years experience.

I am originally from the Rock Island/Moline area. I attended Alleman High School and then continued on to Augustana College. During that time I worked for Hinzman Construction as a laborer and became well acquainted with all aspects of the construction industry. After graduating college I attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where I developed a passion for Obstetrics and Gynecology. I completed my residency at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in OB/GYN. I am excited to be back in my hometown to serve the Quad Cities area. My wife, Laura, and I enjoy the outdoors. In our spare time we love fishing, cycling, skiing and traveling.

We also specialize in Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers on the face and are a prominent skin surgery referral center for other dermatologists and primary care physicians in western Illinois and eastern Iowa. Dermatology also encompasses cosmetic skin care and procedures such as; cosmetic removal of various lesions and spots, cosmeceuticals, chemical peels, laser treatments, Botox, and fillers, etc. Your dermatology provider can discuss any of these with you in person.

I love my job. I work with excellent staff and patients. Our Dermatology Department's nursing and office staff and our three dermatology providers form a great healthcare team and work environment. I also love being a doctor and dermatologist. I get satisfaction from treating skin lesions and disease, as well as explaining to my patients the underlying causes or mechanisms of disease and the treatments. I also especially enjoy skin surgery and the challenges of treating complex skin cancers.
