Kearney Public schools consists of elementary, high and middle schools. The school offers education to students in grades kindergarten through 12. Its elementary school's curriculum includes English, science, math, health education and foreign languages. The middle and high school's curriculum includes math investigations, technology, business, arts and music. It offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including speech competitions, musical programs and educational projects. The schools also organize sports competitions, such as football, volleyball, basketball, softball, and track and field events. The various programs offered by the district include all day kindergartens, bright futures preschool, scholarships, orchestra, school nursing and personal achievement workshops.
