Thornton Middle School is a learning center that is located in Katy, Texas. It offers general academic and special and gifted education programs to students in grades six through eight. The school conducts classes in French, Spanish, technology education, and personal and family development. It offers a range of extracurricular activities that includes theater, art and physical education. Thornton Middle School supports various sports activities, such as basketball, football, soccer, swimming, tennis, cross country, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field. It operates a band, orchestra, choir, and yearbook and newspaper clubs. The school additionally provides transportation, guidance counseling and medical care. Thornton Middle School is governed by the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, which serves more than 96,000 students through various elementary, middle and high schools.
