He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad del Norte in 1989, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Roman-Pavajeau then went on to complete his internship at Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Seora del Rosario. He graduated as a general and vascular surgeon at Hospital Militar Central - Universidad Nueva Granada in Bogota, Colombia.
