Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by our own Dr. Katie Allen. The teeth attached to implants are very natural-looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Dr. Allen graduated from Midwestern University of Chicago Illinois in May of 2021 receiving honors for her excellent patient care as well as the outstanding student award from the American Academy of Periodontology. Since graduation, she has completed over 200 hours of continuing education; specifically focusing on oral surgery, implantology and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Allen is currently making her way though the Kois curriculum and will be graduating from the program in June 2023. She has brought a vast number of other cosmetic procedures to our office including Botox and filler. Dr. Allen is also a part time faculty member at KVCC’s dental hygiene school.
Tooth Extractions

Orthodontics
Although patients of any age can benefit from orthodontic braces, they tend to work much quicker on pre-teens and teenagers since they are still experiencing jaw growth. The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that children should first see an orthodontist around the age of seven years old. An orthodontic examination may be beneficial before age seven if facial or oral irregularities are noted. When we examine your child, we are looking at their growth and development so that we can make a proper recommendation in terms of whether orthodontics is needed.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Dr. Harris graduated from Alma College with a B.A. degree in Sociology in 2002. She attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and received her D.D.S. in 2009. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American and Michigan Dental Associations, and the Kalamazoo Valley District Dental Society. Dr. Harris is a certified Invisalign® and 6 Month Smiles® Provider. She has completed the Faculté for Orthodontic Research and Education program. Dr. Harris is a clinical assistant professor at the WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and on the Advisory Board at KVCC Dental Hygiene program. Dr. Harris has recently become a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
