Medicine Shop

Amazing Staff. They always work hard to please and take care of all of their patients. I am impressed every time I visit!!

I am not a person who usually complains. But after having several issues in the last couple of DAYS with the same place, I think that something should be said.



A few months ago I started using the Medicine Shoppe on 32nd Street. I don't fill prescriptions regularly, just as needed. This week the flu struck my house. I took the kids to the doctor, and asked the nurse to phone in our prescriptions. A few hours later I picked up the prescriptions. When given the total due, I asked if the insurance had been run. I was told it had not, and that they must not have it on file. ?? I had filled prescriptions for all three of the kids there previously. ?? I had to wait around 10 minutes for them to run the prescriptions through insurance. I thought that was weird, but I understand that things happen.

Then today, I had to have additional prescriptions called in. I went through the drive through 2 1/2 hours after they were called in. I was asked if I was sure the doctors office had called it in because they couldn't find anything. I gave the name, spelled it, and date of birth. They came back and said that they found it, but it would be a while because the pharmacist would have to make it. I asked how long "awhile" was, 20 minutes? She said at least. I don’t live in Joplin and had already ran all my errands, I even had icecream, but I told her I would find something to do and come back. I returned around the 20 minute time line. The prescription was ready, I was given my total..and once again when I asked if insurance was run I was told it wasn't. That's right..another wait!!!! When I received my prescriptions, it had the WRONG PATIENT FIRST NAME, AND WRONG PRESCRIBING DOCTOR, I did not notice this until I got home. It made me wonder if the actual medication was correct or not. I was apologized to by the lady in drive through, and I don’t blame her for this. But, I WILL BE CHANGING PHARMACIES, AND I WILL TELL MY STORY TO MANY PEOPLE... I WORK IN A DOCTORS OFFICE MYSELF!!! I understand that it is the sick season, but I don't feel that this is excusable.
