The Street Department is a public agency that consists of construction and maintenance divisions. The department serves the residents of the City of Jonesboro in Arkansas. Its construction division is responsible for street and road construction, as well as bridge maintenance services. The construction division maintains more than 400 miles of streets. The department s maintenance division provides mowing, road striping, crack filling, and sidewalk, asphalt and concrete street repair services. The maintenance division additionally offers installation and maintenance solutions for street signs and storm water inlets. The department has a staff over 50 full- and five part-time employees. The Street Department is governed by the City of Jonesboro, which also operates administration, fire, finance, inspections and police departments.
