Founded in 1935, it helps individuals to recover from alcoholism. The fellowship maintains general service committees. Alcoholics Anonymous conducts meetings for individuals with alcohol-related problems. It maintains more than 114,000 groups and over 2,000,000 members in nearly 180 countries. Alcoholics Anonymous additionally publishes books, pamphlets and periodicals. The fellowship s A.A. Grapevine is a monthly journal that features stories about recovery from alcoholism. Through Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, it supports individuals in treatment and correctional facilities.
