Established in 1955, Jessup Elementary School offers a range of academic and extracurricular options to more than 500 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. It is a professional development school that has a partnership with Towson University. The school s facilities include computer and media research laboratories. It operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising events and programs. The school also maintains a student and citizens advisory council, as well as employs over 60 people. Jessup Elementary School offers art, band, chorus and dance programs. It is a part of Anne Arundel County Public Schools, which governs various educational institutions. The school system employs nearly 5,000 teachers. It is one of the largest school systems in Maryland that serves approximately 70,000 students. The school has won the Exemplary Volunteer Award for PTA Cultural Program from Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
